In the spring of 1969, Williams and Vassar exchanged a few dozen students in what was supposed to be a one-semester experiment in coeducation. Soon 12 colleges were signed on to what quickly became more than an experiment. This film by Paul Lieberman tells the story of the trailblazing women who overcame resistance — and episodes of comic uneasiness — to help change the face of of some of the nation’s most tradition-bound institutions.
